Baguio City is in the North of Luzon. It is a relatively modern city, having been founded around 1900. It is the highest city in the Philippines. As such, it is very prone to high winds and can get quite cold. In the 1990s there was a severe earthquake, which caused serious damage to the city. It is famous as a Summer holiday destination, and for the many varieties of flowers which grow there. It is one of the few places in the Philippines where strawberries will grow.
