DUBLIN, IRELAND

Monday, 29th May 2005.

I went to Ireland with my good friend Christina on Monday (just for a day) and had a lovely time. Though it was raining it did not spoil my day. The downside is I wasn't able to take as many pictures as I wanted to. It took us more than an hour by bus from the airport to Phoenix Park where Emily (Christina's sister) lives - in normal times it will supposedly take 20 minutes. The plan was to tour around Dublin by bus but the weather wasn't helping, so we just wandered around the City on foot and then went to the shopping centre to waste my husband's money!!!!

Our flight left Dublin Airport at 6 pm and arrived at Luton (London) Airport ten minutes before schedule, but we were stuck for more than 30 minutes queueing without obvious reason. When we got into the baggage claim area it was packed (full of holiday makers that were away over the bank holiday weekend). But there was a compensation - we went back to South Farm and had some lovely food (dried fish - my favourite: yum yum!). We stayed there eating and chatting until it was late enough for my husband to be feeling extremely anxious!

In the BUS

I have been in England for almost four years but I have never been in a bus. So here I am enjoying the ride in double decker bus.

IRISH LIFE (INSURANCE COMPANY)

Wondering why we posed in front of this Insurance company?  Because of the peculiar sculpture in the fountain. What do you think?

Bizarre looking pole. Apparently the Irish government are wasting money for this steel work.
